Stardust of Yesterday de Piaget Family Lynn Kurland 9780425182383 Books

This is the Lynn Kurland book I've re-read more than any other. Kendrick is a ghost from the medieval era, cursed along with two warriors who had come with him, to meet his bride. He can't leave the grounds, but his two friends can and they come and go. And he's got a butler, from a line of butlers who've been serving him and keeping the place up for all these years. Genevieve is the last living descendant of the witch that cursed him and she's somewhat surprised to learn she's inherited a castle. He believes he has to kill the last of the Buchanans in order to break the curse, but he can't do it.

So a ghost raised on chivalry, sword fighting and jousting falls in love with a young woman in the current time period who loves him back. It gets a little frustrating that they can't do anything about it. Or can they? And she's in danger from a surprising source.

I love this story where the impossible becomes possible. I believe this is her first book involving a ghost that comes back to life. Both the primary and secondary characters are wonderful and heck, I'd really like to meet Royce. Why hasn't he had his own book?

There's humor, romance, chivalry, fighting and a woman putting up with a lot as these guys can be so caring, but overprotective. And it's fun to watch Genevieve getting used to being around all these ghosts.

Stardust of Yesterday de Piaget Family Lynn Kurland 9780425182383 Books Reviews

I have no idea why they still lable it the "Haunting Hearts" series, because after Lynn wrote her second book "A Dance Through Time" which was the first book of the "Time Passages Romance", she desided to take the series in a different direction. It's now the first book of "The de Piaget / Mac Leod Family Saga". It's a really great book, romantic, funny, intense, and it flows so well that you'll finish it before you know it.
Without a doubt, this is one of my most favorite books of all time. I actually cried during the second half of the book when things looked the bleakest for the two main characters. The scene when she realizes the depth of her feelings for him and the utter despair of the reality of the situation, is the strongest bit of writing anyone has ever done! I felt as if I were actually there living it with them. The ending couldn't have been better done! LOVE this book and highly recommend it!
Lynn Kurland is another favorite writer of mine. I've read all of the De Piaget series and the MacLeod series. This particular book belongs to the De Piaget series. It is a wonderful mix of fantasy along with time travel and romance. If you love this type of book you will love both of these series.
The best part is that all of the characters are either related (by a few hundred years) or connected by other means. They are fun to ready and to re-read.
Ok. I've been reading and rereading this since 2013. Tonight it just seems like Ms. Kurland has a view into my relationship with my husband and me. Especially when Genevieve is finally seducing Kendrick. She has totally captured my husband in this scene. My husband and Kendrick are so similar and so easy to seduce. I'm going to be 65 in a couple of months, and we are still like these characters. I can't read his novel enough times. Thank you, Lynn!
What can I say? This is one of my most worn, ragged books and I love it more each time I read it. Lynn Kurland is brilliant when it comes to blending humor and romance into a spellbinding tale of longing and love found. Kendrick and Genevieve are star-crossed and perfectly matched. She loves all things old and he, after being doomed to haunt his castle for seven centuries, is just the sort of man she wants. She is the last of her family line, and her ancestress is the one who doomed Kendrick to haunt the castle after she helped murder him. He's looking for revenge and then release to join the rest of his family in the next life, but then he meets Genevieve.
Genevieve is one of those characters that you feel like you could slip into like a glove so you could be the one being wooed by Kendrick. They have the courage to love despite all the reasons why they shouldn't, and when the tides turn you celebrate with an ecstatic heart. The only thing I had a problem with was that once Kendrick becomes corporeal again, Genevieve is overwhelmed by an absurd and drawn out fear of his affection and love when she had been longing for him madly during the first half of the book.
Once Kendrick finally manages to get past the obstacles Genevieve puts in his path with a patience and tenderness that is truly awesome, we see fireworks and good, old fashioned romping with all the trimmings.
I have re-read this book no less than ten times and I find more to love about it each time. Add this to your favorite collection, you won't be disappointed!
I get that sex sells. It's the genre of today. But, once in a while you want a book that got you reading in the first place. We want true romance. This book brings what most women like, romance, laughter, tears, and envy. Because it makes you wish you had a ghost if your own. Purely enjoyable book. This is one book I have in my book case to read over and over. I dare you to read it and nit go and buy the next in thus series. I have purchased every thing Lynn writes without disappointment. I consider it an investment to read over and over. Enjoy.
Kendrick's tale weaves throughout the de Piaget stories as his family travels back and forth between medieval times and the present. Here at last is the details of how he became cursed as a ghost through the treachery of the Buchanan family and how he lures the last of the Buchanan's to Seakirk so he can break the curse. Of course most plans go awry and there are a few unexpected plot twists to give his story zest. There are also some of Kurland's best romantic scenes and a few moments of tear jerk. My favorite of the series.
